A Wonderful Dream

The other night I had the most wonderful dream i've had in a while. I dreamt of "My Little Firecracker" who is my boyfriends grandmother connie. I named her my little firecracker because every time i would see her she was so full of energy and life, always happy. Connie would remind me of a little firecracker jumping around, it was always so cute. =) In my dream she was so happy and smiling just as i remember her. It felt great to see her and give her the biggest hug I could give her. The best part is it felt so real. So yesterday when I came home I pulled out my singer sewing machine and the dress that I started to make with connie. We started that dress but sadly were never able to finish it. On the night she died I made a promise to myself to finish the dress we started together. Since that night I really hadn't touched my sewing machine, so yesterday after having such a wonderful dream I felt it was a good time to finish what we had started. I worked for hours trying to remember everything Connie has taught me, and this was as far as I got before i went to bed

I know I should have waited till everything was done but i couldn't. I was very surprised that I was able to even get this far. It may not look like much now but I promise when I'm done it will look like a dress. =) I hope! =)

A early bday gift to myself :-)

For the longest time now i've been wanting a die cut and embossing machine, So yesterday I decided to buy myself a early birthday gift. After browsing in a few stores I decided to look online to see if I could find a better deal. Within a few minutes I found a pretty good deal on HSN.com for a cuddlebug embossing and die cut machine.  After watching a handful of you tube videos and seeing the many cuddlebug creations I really can't wait for it to get here! Once it gets here i'll post pictures and show a few creations of my very own. :}

where to start

I'm sitting here filled with inspiration yet have no idea where to start! I have almost every tool I could possibly need and and I'm drawing a blank. should I sketch a design? Should I just pull out the sewing machine and just start sewing? should i try to work on a scrapbook page? what to do!!!! what to do!!!!!

My first post ever! =)

                                             This was my first sewing project


These are two pillows I made for my boyfriend as his valentines day gift. Since he is very much into music I decided to make him two throw pillows for his bed. I used some velvet fabric which I got from his lovely grandmother Connie and I hand stitched the two music symbols using embroidery thread and a embroidery needle. I also used some kind of thick fabric, which lined the inside of the pillow so it would keep its form. I wasn't sure what i was doing at first and there was alot of trial and error but I think they came out ok.
